Doppel, the AI-native social engineering defence platform, has secured fresh backing as it steps up efforts to counter increasingly sophisticated cyber threats.
The company, which develops technology to identify, prevent, and respond to AI-driven social engineering attacks, has become one of the fastest-growing players in digital risk protection and human risk management.
The business has raised $70m in a Series C round led by Bessemer Venture Partners, bringing total funding to $124m and valuing the company at more than $600m.
The round attracted a broad base of new and returning investors, including George Kurtz, CEO of CrowdStrike, NTT DOCOMO Ventures, Aurum Partners, and a group of athlete investors led by WNBA players Nneka Ogwumike, Breanna Stewart, and Kelsey Plum through the a16z Cultural Leadership Fund.
Existing backers Andreessen Horowitz, South Park Commons, Script Capital, 9Yards Capital, Sozo Ventures and Strategic Cyber Ventures also participated.
Doppel specialises in detecting and disrupting social engineering attacks powered by generative AI. Its platform uses agentic AI and a real-time threat graph to track and remove impersonation attempts across channels while strengthening employee resilience through deepfake-driven simulations and advanced awareness training.
The latest capital will support further product innovation across Doppel’s Digital Risk Protection offering and expand its Human Risk Management solutions. Following the launch of its Simulation product in August, the firm has seen strong early demand, with the tool contributing meaningfully to new bookings in Q3.
Additional information shows that the company has experienced rapid growth, reporting a threefold rise in ARR year on year and a fivefold increase in Fortune 500 customers. Today, Doppel protects more than 200 organisations, including brands such as Coinbase, Ramp, Commerce and Orrick, across sectors including financial services, energy, technology, manufacturing, healthcare, and media.
To sustain this momentum, it has doubled its workforce over the past year and is scaling its engineering, sales and marketing teams while expanding its international operations. The company also recently announced a major development with OpenAI, creating an autonomous AI agent capable of neutralising complex social engineering threats in real time.
Elliott Robinson, partner at Bessemer Venture Partners, said, “We’re thrilled to double down on our partnership with Doppel, as their world-class team is truly unparalleled. In my 20 years of working with startups, Doppel stands out with its incredible speed, massive ambition, and laser focus on execution, which is a clear recipe for success. We believe these qualities will solidify Doppel as the unquestioned leader in social engineering defense for years to come.”
Cayden Larkin, security analyst at Commerce, said, “As a global, publicly traded company, protecting our business and customers is vital. Doppel is a core layer of our security program, helping us to reduce risk by taking down impersonations across channels, and ultimately safeguarding our brand and reputation. We’re excited by Doppel’s pace of innovation and the impact it will continue to have on our customers and brand.”
Kevin Tian, CEO and co-founder of Doppel, said, “We’re proud to have the continued support of returning investors and to welcome new partners to our roster. Their support validates the strength of our vision and the work our team has accomplished. This signals confidence in the path we’re on and reinforces our commitment to driving rapid growth. With this backing, we are positioned to continue scaling aggressively and creating meaningful impact in the market.”
