Tieto, a global software and digital engineering services provider with a broad international market presence, has entered into an agreement to divest its Norwegian subsidiary Bekk Consulting AS to private equity firm Axcel.
The divestment aligns with Tieto’s recently updated capital allocation policy, enabling the company to reduce debt and return capital to shareholders. The firm noted that the strategic refocus within Tieto Tech Consulting created a natural moment to reassess Bekk’s long-term direction, ultimately determining that independent ownership would best support its continued growth.
Tieto delivers mission-critical software and digital engineering services across industries through specialised business units including Tieto Caretech, Tieto Banktech, Tieto Indtech and Tieto Tech Consulting. The company employs around 15,000 experts in vertical software, design, cloud and AI, supporting enterprises in accelerating innovation and leveraging advanced technologies.
The agreed transaction will see Axcel acquire Bekk for a cash-and-debt-free enterprise value of NOK 1,700m (approximately €140m), subject to standard closing adjustments. Bekk, which operates with around 600 employees, has maintained an independent brand identity under Tieto ownership and holds a strong position within Norway’s technology and management consulting sector.
The deal is expected to close during the first quarter of 2026. As of the end of Q3 2025, Bekk reported last-twelve-month revenue of NOK 1,056m and EBIT of NOK 150m.
