Trulioo joins Google AP2 for secure agent payments

Trulioo, the industry-leading identity platform known for its global person and business verification capabilities, has joined Google’s Agent Payments Protocol (AP2) initiative to enhance the security of agent-led digital transactions across platforms.

Trulioo, the industry-leading identity platform known for its global person and business verification capabilities, has joined Google’s Agent Payments Protocol (AP2) initiative to enhance the security of agent-led digital transactions across platforms.

The company said it is taking this step to support the rise of autonomous and AI-driven commerce, where agent-initiated payments require stronger trust, transparency and compliance, according to FF News.

By contributing identity verification expertise, Trulioo aims to strengthen the foundational infrastructure behind AP2.

Trulioo provides a unified Global Identity Platform that enables Know Your Customer (KYC), Know Your Business (KYB) and Know Your Agent (KYA) verification. Its services are used by enterprises worldwide to expand internationally, prevent fraud and meet regulatory demands efficiently.

Within the AP2 initiative, Trulioo will demonstrate how its Digital Agent Passport (DAP) can be combined with the protocol to validate digital agents before transactions occur.

The DAP, supported by the Trulioo Know Your Agent framework, establishes a verifiable trust layer that ensures each agent is authenticated, authorised and accountable as they initiate payments on behalf of users.

The AP2 protocol itself, created by Google, offers a standardised framework that links financial institutions, FinTechs and merchants through an interoperable payments infrastructure. It sets out how AI agents can initiate and complete transactions securely while preserving transparency and regulatory compliance.

Additional details confirm that Trulioo’s participation further deepens its relationship with Google, which already uses the Trulioo Global Identity Platform across its payments operations for KYC, fraud prevention and abuse mitigation.

Trulioo CEO Vicky Bindra said, “The future of commerce belongs to agents that can think, act and transact independently, but only if they can be trusted. By joining AP2, we’re helping define the identity backbone for autonomous payments, where verified agents transact transparently, responsibly and at machine speed. This is the architecture, and the future, of trusted agentic commerce. We’re proud to be working with Google to bring verified identity to agentic payments.”
