CrowdStrike strengthens browser security with Seraphic acquisition

CrowdStrike and Seraphic Security have entered into a definitive agreement that will see CrowdStrike acquire Seraphic as it looks to extend enterprise-grade protection directly into the web browser.

The acquisition is intended to address what CrowdStrike describes as a growing security blind spot, with the browser now acting as the primary execution layer for modern work, cloud applications and AI agents. By bringing Seraphic’s browser-native protection into the Falcon platform, CrowdStrike aims to make any browser secure for enterprise use without forcing employees into locked-down environments or disrupting productivity.

CrowdStrike provides endpoint, cloud, identity and threat intelligence security through its Falcon platform, which aggregates vast amounts of telemetry and uses AI to detect and stop cyber threats in real time. The company has increasingly positioned Falcon as a unified security platform that spans endpoints, identities and cloud workloads, supporting both human users and emerging agentic AI use cases.

Seraphic focuses on enforcing security controls directly inside the browser runtime, regardless of whether users are operating on Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox or agentic browsers, and across both managed and unmanaged devices. Its technology enables in-session visibility and control, allowing organisations to mitigate threats such as session hijacking, phishing, data exfiltration and man-in-the-browser attacks at the point of execution.

As part of the acquisition, Seraphic’s browser telemetry will be combined with CrowdStrike’s endpoint signals and threat intelligence, alongside SGNL’s continuous authorisation technology. This integration is designed to enable dynamic, risk-based access decisions that are granted and revoked in real time, moving beyond static, login-only security models.

The combined offering is expected to deliver capabilities such as in-session zero trust enforcement, next-generation web data loss prevention, protection for enterprise AI usage at the browser layer, and improved security for contractors and BYOD users without requiring a full endpoint agent.

CrowdStrike CEO and founder George Kurtz said, “Productivity requires flexibility and security; users want to work in their browser of choice. Seraphic delivers exactly that. By decoupling security from the browser itself, we can turn any browser into a secure enterprise browser, without forcing change or slowing productivity. With our vast endpoint signals combined with Seraphic’s in-session visibility and SGNL’s dynamic authorization, we are defining the future of Zero Standing Privilege for the modern agentic workforce.”

Seraphic CEO and co-founder Ilan Yeshua said, “The browser is where modern work happens. In joining CrowdStrike, we are bringing platform-level protection to the most important execution layer in the enterprise, ensuring that zero trust is a continuous reality, not just a gateway check.”
