Flagright partners Vilja to modernise AML on BaaS cores

Flagright

Flagright and Vilja Solutions have announced a strategic partnership aimed at bringing modern core infrastructure and next-generation compliance capabilities closer together.

The companies said the partnership is designed to help banks and financial institutions in Europe and APAC tackle a shared problem: legacy core banking systems can slow product development, while older fraud and AML tooling can struggle to keep pace with evolving financial crime patterns and rising regulatory expectations.

Under the agreement, Vilja and Flagright will work together to help mutual clients connect core banking transaction data and event streams from Vilja’s platform into Flagright’s real-time monitoring, investigation and reporting workflows. The aim is to reduce integration complexity, shorten implementation cycles, and speed up time to value for institutions modernising both their technology stack and their compliance operations.

Vilja provides cloud-native core banking infrastructure and BaaS capabilities, positioning its platform to support banks and financial institutions that want to launch and scale new products without being constrained by monolithic, legacy cores.

Flagright, meanwhile, focuses on AI-native financial crime and compliance tooling, including transaction monitoring and operational workflows that support investigations and reporting. By linking data and events directly from the core to Flagright’s platform, the partners are targeting faster deployments, improved operational efficiency and more responsive monitoring.

The partnership also reflects a broader industry push towards architectures that are cloud-native, real-time and API-first, as institutions increasingly treat product innovation and risk mitigation as interconnected priorities rather than separate initiatives.

Vilja CEO Fredrik Ulvenholm said, “We are delighted to collaborate with Flagright, a partner that embodies the same commitment to modern, scalable, and agile solutions. Together, we unite next-gen core banking with next-gen financial crime compliance — a powerful combination that strengthens resilience, accelerates innovation, and delivers a future-proof platform for long-term growth,”

Flagright CEO Baran Ozkan added, “Vilja’s cloud-native core and Flagright’s AI-native fincrime platform are a natural fit. Together we give fintechs and banks a modern stack they can deploy quickly; core modernization plus real-time AML and case management in as little as two weeks. The result is lower operational cost, fewer false positives, and the control compliance teams need without services-heavy implementation or vendor lock-in.”
