Experian, a global data and analytics company specialising in consumer credit, identity and fraud prevention solutions, has announced the launch of the Experian Insurance Marketplace app on ChatGPT.
The launch is driven by Experian’s ambition to simplify complex financial decisions using conversational artificial intelligence.
With consumers increasingly turning to AI-powered tools to research and solve everyday challenges, the company identified an opportunity to remove friction from the insurance comparison process and deliver clearer, more confident decision-making through natural language interactions.
The Experian Insurance Marketplace app is designed to transform how consumers shop for auto insurance. Embedded within ChatGPT, the app allows users to review coverage options, compare estimated rates from more than 37 top-rated insurance carriers and ask follow-up questions in real time, all through a conversational interface rather than traditional online forms and comparison tables.
“Consumers are increasingly using conversational AI to learn, ask questions, explore and solve meaningful financial challenges,” explained Dacy Yee, President of Experian Consumer Services. “Making our insurance marketplace available through ChatGPT allows people to evaluate their choices naturally and potentially save more than $1,000 annually on auto coverage.”
Beyond simple comparisons, the product offers tailored recommendations aligned to individual needs, supported by Experian’s extensive data expertise built over decades of helping consumers make informed financial decisions. The experience replaces static content with a guided exchange that turns questions into actionable insights within minutes.
Trust and transparency are central to the product experience. Consumers can begin exploring price comparisons by entering their ZIP code, and those who wish to receive a personalised quote are securely redirected to Experian’s website to complete the process. Insurance products are offered through Gabi Personal Insurance Agency, Inc., doing business as Experian Insurance Services, with availability and savings varying by state.
The launch also represents a milestone in Experian’s long-term AI strategy. The company plans to deepen personalisation over time by leveraging proprietary data, advanced analytics and its extensive carrier network. Future enhancements are expected to include more seamless insurance journeys and the potential for consumers to progress towards bindable coverage directly within ChatGPT.
“In financial matters, trust is essential,” Yee added. “This experience combines innovation with accountability, giving consumers clarity and peace of mind as they consider their options.”
