Caption selects Mangopay to streamline investor payments

Caption, a France-based regulated investment infrastructure, has selected Mangopay, a wallet-first payment solutions provider, to power its payment flows as it scales its private markets platform and expands its investor and distributor ecosystem.

The partnership will see Mangopay deliver a wallet-first payment infrastructure to Caption, including pay-ins, instant payouts and KYC services, enabling the management of complex, multi-party investment flows.

As Caption’s transaction volumes grew and its business model diversified, the company sought a partner capable of supporting increasingly sophisticated investment workflows while meeting the regulatory requirements tied to its Investment Services Provider status.

Mangopay was chosen for its flexible system, which separates pay-in and payout flows. This structure allows Caption to control when funds are deployed and to transition towards a fully integrated, end-to-end payment flow at its own pace.

Mangopay also worked closely with Caption during the development of a new investment product. The two teams designed a tailored money flow and fee structure to test the product’s commercial viability under real market conditions. Following this live assessment, the product was deemed sustainable and validated, giving Caption the confidence to proceed with a long-term rollout.

Caption operates as a premium investment platform, enabling companies to raise capital through equity and bond instruments. The platform focuses on curated opportunities such as profitable SMEs, growing franchises and collectible assets, targeting high-ticket investments. Beyond its own marketplace, Caption has expanded into B2B services through Caption Services, providing regulated infrastructure to asset managers, wealth advisers and other professionals distributing investment products.

Mangopay’s infrastructure allows Caption to serve a broad capital markets ecosystem within a single compliant framework, spanning investors, asset managers and distributors. To date, Caption has raised more than €110m through curated club deals, private equity and debt financings, supporting between 25 and 30 companies annually.
