Herd Security raises $3m to fight AI-driven threats

Herd Security, an agentic AI creative platform designed for continuous security training and simulation, has closed a $3m funding round led by Aspiron Ventures, with participation from Team Ignite, ForwardSlash VC, Forum Ventures, Rightside Capital, and YPO.

The investment was secured to support product development across new training categories in HR and AI, enhance AI-powered video generation capabilities, and expand the company’s partnership ecosystem.

The raise comes as AI-driven social engineering attacks continue to accelerate, exposing significant gaps in traditional annual compliance programmes. According to Gartner, by 2028 some 40% of social engineering attacks will be directed at executives and the wider workforce, placing growing pressure on enterprises to reassess how they approach security awareness. Research from the SANS Institute adds further weight to this challenge, noting that it can take three to five years for organisations to meaningfully influence employee behaviour and up to a decade to embed lasting security culture.

Herd Security was built for security and governance, risk and compliance (GRC) teams, enabling practitioners to use AI as a creative partner in place of static, periodic training programmes that struggle to keep pace with modern threats. The platform allows users to import policies, compliance frameworks, and security data, which it automatically parses and updates when changes occur. Teams can generate tailored micro-training content within seconds using prompts aligned to organisational needs, and deliver that training directly through existing tools in formats including text, video, image, and conversational AI.

Herd Security CEO and co-founder Brandon Min said, “Security training has never been limited by expertise, but by execution. Threats evolve daily and organizations aren’t equipping security professionals with the tools to turn what they know into relevant programs that engage employees when it matters most. Herd removes this barrier so teams can continuously put their knowledge into action without added resources, creating everyday awareness that strengthens human defense to match the speed and scale of emerging risks.”

Aspiron Ventures partner Oliver Legg said, “Organizations face a new reality where threats are outpacing workforce preparedness. Security training has not evolved for this shift, but Herd is addressing that problem by reinventing how it is operationalized without the usual friction. The company’s recognition as a finalist in last year’s Okta Startup Challenge was an early signal of momentum, and our investment is all about accelerating that progress.”

OneBrief director of corporate IT & security Stefany Pratt said, “Herd has truly transformed our approach to security training. We’ve replaced long, static lectures with short, timely microtrainings that fit directly into employee workflows. This has made it easier to reinforce positive security behaviors and cultivate a more proactive culture with training that feels relevant and engaging.”
