Baltic bank Luminor has completed a significant step in its cloud transformation strategy, migrating its core payment services onto Tieto Banktech’s Payments as a Service platform, a cloud-native engine built on Amazon Web Services’ (AWS) secure infrastructure.
The migration consolidates Luminor’s SEPA Credit Transfers, SEPA Instant Payments, and cross-border payment operations spanning Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania into a single, fully modular cloud-native ecosystem. Additional payment services are slated to follow in the coming months.
The move is central to Luminor’s broader strategic agenda, which is centred on growing its customer base, improving the efficiency of its IT infrastructure, and accelerating the digitalisation of its operating model.
Luminor chief information officer Enkelejd Zotaj said, “This is a significant milestone in our journey to deliver cloud-native services and lays a strong foundation for scalable, cost-effective growth. It underlines our commitment to enhancing customer experience, embedding compliance by design, and advancing cybersecurity.”
Tieto Banktech head of payments and cash management Sathish Padmanathan said, “We are really proud to partner with Luminor to deliver a modern Payments-as-a-Service platform on AWS that supports Luminor’s strategy in a rapidly evolving financial landscape. By simplifying the onboarding of new payment types and enhancing resilience and compliance, Luminor can accelerate time-to-market for future innovation while ensuring reliable payment services for both private and corporate customers.”
