BridgeWise launches podcast sentiment data feed

Context Analytics, a BridgeWise company, has unveiled a Podcast Sentiment Analysis Feed, a new data product drawing on financial and business podcast content to deliver ticker-level market signals to systematic investors and quantitative traders.

The feed is designed to fill a long-standing gap in unstructured data coverage. It processes audio from a continuously growing library of more than three million financial, business and news podcasts, using automatic speech recognition to produce transcripts that are then run through Context Analytics’ existing natural language processing sentiment pipeline.

Each transcript is tagged at company and ticker level, generating sentiment scores and associated metrics suitable for systematic trading workflows. The product also produces AI-generated summaries that surface company mentions and broader podcast context, enabling both quantitative and qualitative research use cases.

The launch adds a fourth data channel to Context Analytics’ existing suite of products, which already covers what investors are reading through its Quantitative News Feed, what companies are disclosing through Corporate Filings Intelligence, and what markets are saying through Social Media Sentiment Feeds spanning X, StockTwits and Reddit via its SentimentWise solution.

The scale of the podcast market underpins the rationale for the product. More than 4.5 million podcasts now exist globally, attracting close to 600 million listeners. In the UK alone, over half of people aged 16 and above consume podcasts on a monthly basis, according to recent research, with a third tuning in each week. Separate Reuters Institute research found that nearly three quarters of podcast listeners use the format to gain deeper understanding of topics than other media allow.

Key features of the feed include finance-focused sentiment scoring, low-latency delivery shortly after podcast release, more than a decade of historical data for backtesting and factor development, topic classification and trend analysis, and custom feed generation options.

Context Analytics managing director, North America, Joe Gits said, “Investors and industry experts have been creating and consuming podcasts for years. There is valuable market insight locked in that audio, but until now, the industry lacked the infrastructure to turn it into measurable data. We’re excited to provide reliable sentiment signals from this increasingly critical media channel.”
