Ominimo, a Budapest-based InsurTech using AI and advanced data analytics to transform motor insurance, has secured $22.5m in Series B funding at a $1.6bn valuation, according to Ventureburn.
The funding round marks a significant jump from the $200m valuation reported during the company’s Series A in 2025, positioning Ominimo among Europe’s fastest-growing InsurTech companies just two years after launch. The company has reached unicorn status while remaining profitable and now serves close to one million customers across multiple European markets.
Ventureburn revealed, the new capital will support Ominimo’s plans to secure an insurance licence, expand its AI capabilities, develop new products and accelerate international growth. The company currently operates as a managing general agent (MGA), managing pricing, distribution and claims while underwriting risk is provided by partner carriers including Signal Iduna and DA Direkt.
The company currently operates across Hungary, Poland, the Netherlands and Sweden, with plans to expand into Belgium and Romania before entering Spain, Italy and France. Ominimo is also targeting a US launch by 2027.
Rather than relying on traditional risk factors, the company’s models analyse hundreds of data points to improve pricing accuracy and continuously learn from customer data.
The company’s growth has accelerated rapidly, with annualised gross written premium increasing from €26.3m in 2024 to around €307m today. Its workforce has also expanded from around 40 employees at launch to approximately 130, with plans to reach 150 by the end of 2026.
