Bluefin and Visa team up on card-present payments

Bluefin, the global leader in payment and data security infrastructure for integrated and orchestrated commerce, and Visa, a world leader in digital payments, have launched a joint card-present acceptance offering.

The new solution merges Bluefin’s PCI-validated point-to-point encryption (P2PE) technology with Visa Acceptance Solutions, giving merchants, software providers and enterprise organisations a single, unified route to secure in-person payment acceptance. It brings Visa’s global payment reach together with Bluefin’s card-present security infrastructure in one integrated package.

The collaboration folds payment acceptance, PCI-validated security, tokenisation, device lifecycle management and enterprise payment infrastructure into one cohesive system. Bluefin contributes its PCI-validated P2PE solution, secure decryption services, a certified payment application, terminal integration and its P2PE Manager® tool, while Visa Acceptance Solutions supplies payment processing, tokenisation and global payment services via a unified architecture.

The offering has gone live with selected certified Ingenico Lane series devices, with the goal of streamlining secure deployment across sectors including retail, hospitality, petroleum, healthcare and higher education.

The architecture has also been built to expand to further certified device ecosystems over time. Organisations adopting the offering can expect simplified deployment, centralised device management, access to developer APIs and SDKs, and a reduced PCI compliance scope thanks to Bluefin’s PCI-validated P2PE solution.

By pulling together payment acceptance, PCI-validated P2PE, tokenisation, device management and payment processing into one solution, the partnership means organisations no longer need to independently integrate separate payment, security and device management technologies.

The offering will be distributed to merchants and software providers through Visa Acceptance Solutions as well as Visa’s wider global sales and partner network, giving organisations a more direct path to enterprise-grade card-present acceptance.

Bluefin is a global leader in enterprise payment and data security infrastructure, helping organisations securely connect payment systems, applications, processors and devices through a vendor-agnostic platform.

By combining PCI-validated P2PE, vaultless tokenisation, orchestration and centralised management, the company helps enterprises cut PCI scope, ease compliance and orchestrate payments securely across complex environments. Bluefin’s platform now supports more than 300 partners and 40,000 businesses, protecting in excess of $350bn in transactions each year.

Bluefin founder and chief strategy officer Ruston Miles said, “Enterprise organizations are no longer looking for individual payment technologies – they’re looking for infrastructure that enables secure commerce across every channel.

“Our collaboration with Visa Acceptance Solutions reflects a shared vision that secure payment acceptance should be delivered as an integrated platform rather than a collection of independent components. By combining Visa Acceptance Solutions with Bluefin’s card-present security infrastructure, we’re helping organizations simplify deployment, reduce complexity, and build a stronger foundation for the future of enterprise commerce.”
