Hopae and TCC bring global eID checks to Saudi Arabia

Hopae and Technology Control Company (TCC) have signed a partnership agreement to accelerate the adoption of global electronic identities (eIDs) across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The deal was signed at the TCC pavilion during LEAP 2026 in Riyadh, the Kingdom’s flagship technology event. Under the terms of the agreement, TCC will introduce Hopae Connect, the company’s global eID verification hub, to government entities and enterprises throughout Saudi Arabia.

The platform links more than 70 government-issued eIDs and digital identity wallets through a single, compliant API, giving Saudi organisations the ability to verify individuals using the trusted digital identity of their home country rather than relying on document-based checks.

Saudi Arabia attracts visitors from across the globe for business, employment, tourism and pilgrimage, and digital identity underpins every service made available to them. The partnership is designed to allow the Kingdom to recognise and verify identities from around the world while keeping its own national identity infrastructure entirely sovereign.

Hopae was founded to give people the ability to use an identity they already hold and trust in any country they visit, rather than requiring separate verification systems for each jurisdiction. TCC brings deep expertise in identity management and secure digital solutions within the Saudi market, positioning the pair to jointly extend eID verification capability to organisations across the Kingdom.

Beyond the rollout of Hopae Connect, the partnership includes joint training and solution workshops between the two companies, along with the co-development of use cases built specifically for the Saudi market. The agreement also sets out a route to bring these jointly developed solutions to market through TCC’s existing customer network. The tie-up extends Hopae’s partner network, which already spans leading identity verification and trust service providers across North America and Europe, into the Middle East for the first time.

Hopae founder and CEO Jaehoon Shim said, “Digital identity is rarely noticed until it is missing, yet it sits beneath every enterprise, every institution and every welcome extended to someone who has travelled far to receive it. With TCC, we are bringing the world’s digital identities to Saudi Arabia at the moment the Kingdom is drawing the world toward it. This is what Hopae was built for: letting people use the identity they already trust, wherever they go.”

TCC general manager of identity management Ahmed Saleh Almaiman said, “This partnership builds on TCC’s ongoing efforts to advance our capabilities in digital identity and to strengthen the integration of technologies and expertise.”
