RGI, a Milan-based provider of core and digital technology for European insurers, has acquired Italian InsurTech D4Next as it looks to help carriers introduce new digital products and distribution capabilities without replacing their existing systems.
The acquisition brings D4Next’s YOGA platform into RGI’s portfolio. YOGA acts as an intelligent layer over an insurer’s existing infrastructure, helping carriers manage commercial offers across distribution channels, respond to business events, combine insurance with non-insurance products and engage customers through mobile, telephone and intermediary channels.
A key feature of YOGA is the separation between an insurer’s commercial proposition and the underlying technology supporting it. This enables carriers to connect multiple core systems and distribution channels while introducing new services and workflows.
The platform also incorporates agentic AI capabilities that can manage digital customer interactions across areas including underwriting, claims and customer service.
YOGA is already integrated with RGI PASS Platform, giving the two companies an existing base for their combined offering. RGI and D4Next plan to expand their collaboration across RGI’s existing markets, while also pursuing opportunities in France, where D4Next already operates.
RGI has four decades of experience developing technology for insurers and serves hundreds of clients across dozens of EMEA countries. Its modular platforms cover property and casualty, life and claims, combining local teams with a wider European presence.
D4Next was founded in 2021 by Vito Rocca and Davide Scaravaggi. Christophe Quesne became an investor in 2024 when the company established its French entity. D4Next now employs more than 20 people across Italy and France and has secured 16 clients during its first three years.
RGI Group CEO Gianni Camisa said, “The future of insurance technology is not about choosing between core platforms and agility. It is about making the technology landscape work together to support faster business innovation. The acquisition of D4Next boosts RGI’s ability to help insurers evolve their technology progressively, combining our expertise in insurance platforms with new capabilities that can accelerate innovation across digital, products and distribution.”
D4Next CEO Davide Scaravaggi also commented, “Joining RGI marks an important step in D4Next’s growth. We share a common vision of how technology can help insurers accelerate business innovation.”
He added, “Becoming part of RGI gives us the opportunity to contribute to a broader proposition, combining our capabilities with RGI’s technology, insurance expertise and international presence.”
