Linedata and AutoRek take aim at manual reconciliation

Linedata, a worldwide supplier of credit and asset management technology, data and services, has formed a strategic alliance with AutoRek that will see the latter’s automated reconciliation platform offered to Linedata customers as a fully managed service.

Under the arrangement, Linedata will run AutoRek’s software through its co-sourcing model, meaning asset managers and fund administrators can access automated reconciliation without having to buy, implement or operate a separate system themselves.

The service will be run by the same operational framework clients already rely on for other co-sourced functions.

The tie-up targets a stubborn bottleneck in investment operations. AutoRek’s 2026 study of capital markets firms in the UK and US found that 85% believe their operational processes are already under strain, or would be, should transaction volumes keep climbing.

Over half (53%) continue to rely on spreadsheets for at least part of their reconciliation work, while firms devote an average of 15.9% of their operational budgets to correcting errors stemming from manual processes. Licensing, implementation and staffing have all been cited as obstacles that slow the adoption of automated reconciliation.

AutoRek’s offering will sit alongside Linedata’s in-house reconciliation platform, giving clients a wider choice of managed services as their operational and business requirements shift. Linedata’s operations staff have undergone formal training and certification from AutoRek and will manage the platform for clients directly.

Linedata positions itself as a technology-agnostic, full-service provider of asset management solutions, and the agreement is presented as an extension of that approach.

Beyond the product itself, the deal broadens the commercial footprint of both firms. Linedata will gain access to AutoRek’s customers across the UK and Northern Europe, while AutoRek will use the partnership to speed up its expansion in North America, APAC and France.

Linedata executive vice president and head of global services Jonathan Hinkley said, “Linedata and AutoRek share a common goal: to deliver the best technologies to asset managers that will transform their financial operations. This partnership, built on an established operating model with the same staffing governance, and oversight structure as Linedata’s other co-sourced services, will give customers unrivalled tools to manage their investments with maximum ease and efficiency, rather than standalone software to run themselves.”

AutoRek CRO Martyn Ward said, “We’re excited to be partnering with Linedata, a firm that shares our commitment to helping clients achieve real operational outcomes, not just deploying software, especially in an era when organisations are struggling to implement new technologies effectively, at scale”. He added, “Together, we’re reshaping asset management around the principles of tighter integration, support for clients’ service models, and future-forward tools shaped by SaaS, automation, and artificial intelligence technologies”.
