Lion Group shifts digital asset treasury towards HYPE

Lion Group Holding, a Singapore-based and Nasdaq-listed trading platform operator, has reshaped its digital asset treasury by selling its entire Solana position and part of its Bitcoin holdings to increase its exposure to Hyperliquid‘s HYPE token.

The company made the changes on 29 September 2026, using proceeds from the asset sales to purchase approximately 38,102 additional HYPE tokens. Following the transaction, Lion Group’s total HYPE holdings reached around 232,900 tokens, valued at approximately $20.1m.

The latest acquisition builds on an existing HYPE position, making the token a larger component of Lion Group’s digital asset treasury. The company said the decision reflects its continued confidence in Hyperliquid’s fundamentals and longer-term prospects.

The treasury shift comes as Hyperliquid continues to expand its trading ecosystem. The protocol has maintained strong activity and perpetuals trading volumes while adding new products and services.

Public reports have highlighted the launch of a manual borrowing tool in September, allowing users to provide HYPE or Bitcoin as collateral for stablecoin loans. Open interest on Hyperliquid also reached record levels towards the end of September, while Binance added HYPE to its spot trading markets.

Access to the token has expanded through other financial and infrastructure providers. Gemini now offers HYPE staking to eligible customers in the US, while infrastructure companies have introduced low-latency market data feeds for Hyperliquid.

Lion Group also pointed to broader ecosystem development and additional routes for accessing the asset, including US spot ETFs, alongside growing market interest in Hyperliquid. However, the company stressed that its decision should not be interpreted as a forecast for the future performance of either Hyperliquid or HYPE.
