FinTech Capsafa launches free household financial organiser

Capsafa, a self-funded UK FinTech startup, has launched a free platform to help households organise their financial information and make it easier for relatives to access key records when needed.

The service allows users to consolidate details of bank accounts, investments, pensions, insurance policies and property in one place. Households can upload documents or record where physical copies are stored, set reminders for renewals and reviews, and create an Executor Pack containing a downloadable summary of their financial affairs.

The launch follows research commissioned by Capsafa which found that one in four UK adults were not confident their relatives could locate and understand their financial affairs without help. Conducted by OnePoll, the survey covered savings, bank accounts, investments and debts, highlighting the extent to which knowledge of household finances can be concentrated in one person.

Founder Dan Yorke, a financial services technology entrepreneur and broker who has worked in the sector since 1998, developed the platform after seeing incomplete documentation repeatedly delay applications at his mortgage and business finance brokerage.

Capsafa launched in September 2026 and is currently available to UK households at no cost. Its features bring together financial records, property details, policies, supporting documents, relevant contacts and renewal dates. The business has been self-funded to date and intends to introduce optional premium features and commercial partnerships to generate revenue. Core services, including Trusted Contacts and the Executor Pack, will remain free.

The company is also seeking partnerships with mortgage brokers, financial advisers, accountants and will-writing firms to introduce the organiser to their clients. Capsafa said the platform is intended to complement professional advice rather than replace it. It does not provide financial advice, manage money or recommend financial products.

Security has been built into the platform, with users not required to share passwords or login credentials for their financial accounts. Stored information is protected using AES-256 encryption, while data is also encrypted in transit and logins require two-factor authentication.

Before launch, Capsafa completed two independent security reviews, including penetration testing conducted by CREST-approved firm AppSecure Security. The company said the findings were resolved and independently verified in September 2026. Capsafa Ltd also holds certification under the UK government-backed Cyber Essentials scheme.

Yorke said, “Every provider gives its customers a view of the product they hold with them. But keeping track of how it all fits together is still largely the customers’ job. As they change jobs, move house and take out new policies, it becomes increasingly difficult to manage.

“I see a commercial opportunity in making that job easier. Brokers, advisers and solicitors also spend time chasing information their clients struggle to find. They have a good reason to help people get organised, and they’re already speaking to them at moments when it matters. That’s why professional partnerships are central to how we want to grow Capsafa.
