Gradient AI, a leading provider of artificial intelligence solutions for the insurance industry, has secured growth capital financing from CIBC Innovation Banking, a specialist lender with over two decades of experience backing growth-stage technology companies.
The capital injection will fund Gradient AI’s ongoing growth plans and development efforts as it looks to expand its platform capabilities and address the evolving demands of the global insurance market.
At the core of Gradient AI’s offering is a SaaS platform that draws on a vast industry data lake spanning tens of millions of policies and claims, further enriched by economic, health, geographic, and demographic data. The platform enables insurers to predict underwriting and claims risks with greater accuracy, improve loss ratios and profitability, and cut claim expenses through intelligent automation. Its customer base spans insurance carriers, MGAs, MGUs, TPAs, risk pools, PEOs, and large self-insured employers across all major lines of insurance.
The company counts Centana Growth Partners, MassMutual Ventures, Sandbox InsurTech Ventures, and Forte Ventures among its existing backers.
Gradient AI CEO Stan Smith said, “While we are thrilled to secure this investment from CIBC Innovation Banking, it is now up to us to continue to address the industry challenges by enhancing our platform and delivering unparalleled value to our customers.
“Insurers are becoming increasingly sophisticated in their risk assessment, yet challenges still arise. We are focused on helping them achieve these goals by automating processes, reducing costs, and significantly improving results.”
CIBC Innovation Banking director George Bixby said, “We are excited to work with and support the Gradient AI team as it continues to expand its market footprint and transformational solutions across the insurance industry. The team’s innovative approach to leveraging artificial intelligence is reshaping how insurers assess risk, manage claims, and deliver value to their customers.”
