Pleo, a European strategic finance platform, has announced a partnership with iplicit, a cloud accounting platform built for the UK and Ireland’s mid-market, to bring automated spend management and smart corporate cards to mid-market finance teams through Pleo Embedded.
The two companies are currently integrating their platforms, with the combined solution set to allow organisations to synchronise expense data directly into iplicit’s cloud-native accounting software in real time. Once live, the integration will extend iplicit’s existing expense management features to include smart corporate cards, advanced controls and AI-driven spend optimisation recommendations.
The move is designed to address a growing problem for mid-market businesses, whose financial toolsets have become increasingly fragmented, leading to data silos, poor visibility and operational inefficiencies, it said.
By connecting spend data directly to iplicit at the point of transaction, finance teams will have a single, continuously updated view of their organisation’s financial position without switching between systems. Physical and virtual smart corporate cards will also be available to distribute across organisations, reducing the administrative burden of chasing payments and receipts while keeping finance teams in control.
iplicit is a cloud-native accounting platform tailored to businesses that have outgrown entry-level solutions or grown dissatisfied with legacy on-premises software. Pleo describes itself as Europe’s most trusted strategic finance platform, offering corporate cards and spend management tools for businesses of varying sizes.
iplicit VP partnerships Ben Crow said, “At iplicit, we prioritise listening to the needs of our mid-market customers to continually refine our product. With over 70 channel and technology partners, our ecosystem continues to grow – and each addition is a direct response to what mid-market finance teams are telling us they need. Specialist expense management has been a consistent ask from finance teams with more complex needs who want a single, connected view of their spending without jumping between systems.
“Pleo has been a fantastic partner to work with and has exactly the kind of best-in-breed technology that allows us to expand what iplicit can do, giving customers a point solution that matches the complexity of their operations. The UK’s mid-market deserves software that keeps pace with it, and that’s what partnerships like this deliver. We look forward to aligning our teams to bring a joint value proposition to our existing and new customers, ensuring we have raving fans – a core part of the iplicit mission.”
Pleo Embedded VP Kunal Galav said, “Expectations around financial visibility are only moving in one direction. The question for accounting software providers is whether their product moves with them. iplicit’s move to integrate Pleo Embedded will only benefit its customers, providing them with improved control and awareness of business spend. Meanwhile, iplicit benefits from new revenue streams and a closer relationship with its customer base – all without additional build.”
