Valid Systems has launched a data integration on the Snowflake AI Data Cloud, enabling financial institutions to run AI and machine learning models natively within Snowflake to detect and mitigate deposit fraud in real time.
The integration allows any organisation already operating on Snowflake to access Valid Systems’ decisioning capabilities without the need for conventional data migration or lengthy implementation workflows. The company will harness Snowflake’s machine learning containers to handle computationally intensive models at the speed and scale demanded by major financial institutions.
Valid Systems currently processes in excess of 70 million transactions each month, guarantees more than $6bn in immediately available funds on a monthly basis, and supports around-the-clock decisioning across entire account portfolios serving millions of customers. All decisioning activity within the integration is underpinned by Snowflake’s enterprise-grade data governance and security infrastructure. Each decision generates a full audit trail, giving compliance teams the transparency and defensibility needed to satisfy today’s regulatory requirements — particularly as banks face top-down mandates to accelerate process automation.
A notable implication of the integration is its potential to democratise access to sophisticated risk tools. Smaller financial institutions and FinTech firms that have historically been unable to afford or deploy enterprise-scale machine learning capabilities will now be able to utilise the same technology deployed by the country’s largest banks, by virtue of building on Snowflake’s shared cloud infrastructure.
Valid Systems chief technology officer Mike Ring said, “What makes our approach truly differentiated is the depth of intelligence behind every decision. We pair every transaction with a rich set of behavioral features, so our models see the full picture, not just the transaction in isolation. Snowflake provides the horsepower for us to process that volume of data in real time, allowing us to bring sophisticated risk intelligence to financial institutions of all sizes.”
Snowflake director of FSI Data Cloud Products Tom Gray said, “Valid Systems’ commitment to helping Snowflake mobilize the world’s data can be seen through the launch of this integration. We look forward to driving deeper value for Snowflake’s AI Data Cloud ecosystem through collaboration with Valid Systems to run complex machine learning models, 24 hours a day, across millions of accounts through Snowflake’s single, integrated platform.”
