Zento taps Flagright to guard against financial crime

Flagright

Flagright, the AI operating system for financial crime compliance, has been selected by Zento, a business account provider built for entrepreneurs, to reinforce its defences against financial crime as the company expands.

The partnership will see Zento deploy Flagright’s technology across real-time transaction monitoring, watchlist screening, dynamic risk scoring and case management, underpinning the safe, scalable growth of its multi-currency business accounts and payment flows.

The move comes as Zento pushes further into cross-border payments, an area where regulatory scrutiny and financial crime risk typically intensify alongside transaction volume and currency complexity. By embedding Flagright’s tools into its compliance stack, Zento aims to keep pace with growth without compromising on oversight, giving its teams the ability to identify and act on suspicious activity as it happens rather than after the fact.

Under the partnership, Zento’s compliance teams gain configurable, risk-based transaction monitoring that flags suspicious activity in real time, alongside watchlist screening of customers and counterparties that produces investigation-ready alerts with clear decision trails. Dynamic risk scoring, which adjusts to customer and transaction behaviour, will help teams prioritise which reviews demand attention first, while unified case management workflows bring investigations, collaboration and audit trails into a single system.

Zento is developing business accounts aimed at cutting administrative burden and friction from everyday business finance. Through its web and mobile platform, European companies and sole traders can open and manage business accounts, move money via SEPA, SWIFT and local payment systems, and exchange currencies, with the company positioning speed, transparency and customer-first service as its core differentiators.

Zento co-founder Nicolai Aarestrup said, “We built Zento to remove barriers for entrepreneurs, with less admin, fewer delays, and a simpler way to manage business finances. But as we scale across currencies and payment rails, trust has to scale with us. Flagright gives us real-time monitoring and screening controls that help us stay fast for legitimate businesses while keeping risk decisioning structured and audit-ready.”

Zento CEO and co-founder Rashid Ahmad added, “Modern business accounts need modern controls. Flagright gives us real-time visibility across payment activity, stronger watchlist screening, and unified workflows for investigations and reporting. That combination helps our team act earlier on risk signals while maintaining a consistent, evidence-driven approach to compliance.”

Flagright co-founder and CEO Baran Özkan also remarked, “Zento is building a business account experience that puts entrepreneurs first, with faster onboarding, simpler payments, and less friction in day-to-day operations. We’re excited to support Zento with real-time transaction monitoring, watchlist screening, risk scoring, and unified investigations, so they can scale with confidence, keep controls rigorous, and protect legitimate businesses as they grow.”

For those tracking how compliance infrastructure is shaping the next wave of business banking, this partnership is a signal worth following closely.
