Mirai RiskTech, a risk technology firm focused on integrated asset and liability management and balance sheet management, has secured €5m from Spanish investor Inveready to take its AI-powered platform for banks into new international markets.
Inveready is the sole investor named in the round. Mirai plans to use the capital to scale across Europe, the UK, the US and the Middle East while deepening its footprint in established markets including Spain. A portion of the money will also go towards further development of its balance sheet management platform.
The raise lands at a time when treasury and ALM functions face quicker-moving markets, tougher regulatory demands and shrinking deadlines. Many banks continue to operate treasury, ALM, risk and finance on disconnected systems, often relying on mismatched methodologies and modelling processes designed for a slower, simpler era.
This patchwork delays decision-making, adds weight to stress testing and makes the balance sheet more difficult to manage when conditions change. Banks are therefore shifting towards unified platforms that combine transparency, consistency and performance.
Mirai’s platform runs on a single data model that ties together modelling, data and reporting. It places interest rate risk in the banking book (IRRBB), liquidity, funds transfer pricing (FTP) and regulatory reporting within one framework.
By consolidating tasks that banks have traditionally handled on separate systems, the platform gives finance and risk teams a shared, consistent view across metrics. Its cloud-native design is intended to shorten the gap between a market shift and the resulting balance sheet decision.
Some of the new funding will support Mirai AI, the company’s suite of artificial intelligence products, which pairs generative AI with deep learning to speed up balance sheet steering. Mirai AI Modeling allows banks to create and deploy behavioural models using years of historical data, running statistical and machine learning methods within live production workflows.
These models update continuously as circumstances evolve. Mirai AI Agent, meanwhile, embeds specialist knowledge of ALM, liquidity risk and banking regulation into everyday operations, walking teams through balance sheet analysis and producing natural language insights that remain fully traceable.
Mirai CEO and co-founder Olmo Vázquez said, “Banks have historically managed treasury, ALM, risk and finance on separate systems, which makes it harder for a chief financial officer and a chief risk officer to work from the same numbers. The aim is to give them a single, governed source of truth, with artificial intelligence built into the core of the platform rather than added on top. This investment lets us bring that approach to more institutions internationally.”
