Cowbell, an AI-native cyber and specialty insurance provider for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), has rolled out Risk Advisor, a personalised AI agent designed to give each of its policyholders an evidence-based roadmap for lowering their cyber risk.
The new agents sit within OMNI, the InsurTech’s AI-native Decision Intelligence System, and convert the risk data Cowbell gathers on an ongoing basis into a ranked list of steps a business can take to improve its cyber resilience. Policyholders can access their Risk Advisor via the Cowbell Platform or the Cowbell OMNI mobile app. Each agent is tailored to the individual business’s security posture and policy details, drawing together Cowbell Factors, Spotlights, security findings, inside-out connector data and live threat intelligence to pinpoint the most pressing issues, explain their significance and suggest practical responses.
Many firms hold large volumes of security data but lack the time or specialist knowledge to make sense of it. Risk Advisor aims to close that gap by showing which factors are shaping a risk score, which findings and Spotlights deserve attention first, what a given vulnerability means for the organisation, and which measures best suit its particular systems and exposures.
For businesses using AI, the tool interprets three dedicated AI Cowbell Factors: AI Exposure, covering observability; AI Vulnerability, covering autonomy; and AI Assurance, covering governance. It sets out the signals behind each and ranks the steps needed to strengthen the organisation’s AI risk posture.
Recommendations are ordered according to urgency and the scale of risk reduction they could deliver. Every suggestion comes with an explanation of its importance and the evidence behind it, allowing policyholders to tackle urgent problems while also developing a longer-term security strategy.
Upwards of 60 Cowbell Connectors can be linked to deepen Risk Advisor’s insight into a policyholder’s environment. The agent outlines what each integration contributes, summarises results from connected tools and proposes mitigations matched to the configurations it detects.
Each Risk Advisor is underpinned by OMNI’s self-healing operational ontology, a continuously validated knowledge graph covering every insured business, alongside Cowbell’s Global Risk Pool of more than 55 million businesses. As conditions shift, OMNI checks this model against live operations, absorbing routine updates automatically and flagging significant discrepancies for human review, meaning guidance remains up to date without manual intervention.
Cowbell says the tool moves beyond basic information retrieval and generic AI summaries, with every recommendation remaining linked to its underlying signals and sources so users can see what shaped the advice before acting. Where specialist help is required, Risk Advisor can direct policyholders to Cowbell Resiliency Services (CRS) and the firm’s in-house cybersecurity team.
Cowbell co-founder and chief product officer Rajeev Gupta said, “A 40-person manufacturer shouldn’t need a team of cybersecurity specialists to understand the risks it faces.
“With OMNI, every Cowbell policyholder gets their own AI Risk Advisor, grounded in their business, security posture, and policy context. It continuously interprets the signals around that business, prioritizes what matters, explains the evidence supporting its recommendations, and connects the policyholder with Cowbell’s cybersecurity experts when human guidance is needed. This is how cyber insurance becomes an active part of a company’s resilience, rather than a document sitting in a drawer.”
