Barclaycard teams up with TouchBistro to empower restaurant with more efficient payment methods

Canadian TouchBistro, the point-of-sale payment solution for restaurants and pubs, has joined forces with Barclaycard, the global payment business.

The deal will incorporate Barclaycard’s payment solutions in TouchBistro’s iPad-based payment offering. Restaurants and pubs using the system will now be able to complete payments faster, smoother and more accurately even if bills are split, according to the two companies.

Nicole Olbe, managing director of partnerships at Barclaycard Payment Solutions, said, “We know that getting customer experience right is vital for a restaurant to build loyalty among its clientele. Our new agreement with TouchBistro will help hospitality outlets streamline their processes, thereby driving revenue and allowing wait staff to spend more time with their customers. In turn, this allows diners to benefit from an improved customer experience.”

Alex Barrotti, CEO and founder of TouchBistro, added, “TouchBistro is committed to helping restaurants and pubs increase efficiency and improve the customer experience with advanced technology designed specifically for the unique workflows of the busy foodservice and beverage industry. Barclaycard shares this commitment. Our new partnership will offer UK restaurants and pubs a modern solution that helps streamline processes to enhance customer engagement and grow revenues.”

FinTech Global reported on TouchBistro’s $54m Series D round in June 2018. The deal made it one of the biggest Canadian FinTech investments in the first half of 2018.
