Cybersecurity solution Semperis has closed its Series B round on $40m, which was led by private equity firm Insight Partners.
Additional support came from unnamed previous backers.
In conjunction with the deal, Insight Partners managing director Teddie Wardi and SilverTech Ventures partner Charlie Federman will join the company’s board of directors.
With the fresh equity, Semperis is looking to grow its global presence and accelerate hiring in all of its teams.
Clients of Semperis can continuously monitor their directories for security vulnerabilities, intercept cyberattacks in progress and respond to breached and operational errors.
Insight Partners managing director Teddie Wardi said, “Across every industry, companies are waking up to the fact that ransomware can literally shut off the lights and end their business if recovery isn’t swift and secure.
“With ransomware damages projected to reach $20 billion by 2021, Semperis is filling an enormous gap, especially for organizations that can’t tolerate lengthy outages or degraded service. We’re thrilled to partner with the team and help them scale.”
The investment comes after Semperis completes its sixth consecutive profitable quarter, the RegTech claims.
Following the round close, the company has secured a total of $54m in funding.
