With cyber attacks threats rise, customers are most concerned about the threat of identity theft and stolen debit or credit card information.
In a new pole held by Computer Services, the company found that identity theft and stolen credit card information were the biggest fears held by consumers.
It also found that 30% of consumers believed it was ok to use the same password for their online bank account that is used for other online accounts.
Finally, the report claimed that 48% of consumers indicated they would leave their financial institution if it suffered a breach.
CSI Business Solutions group president Kurt Guenther said, “While the financial industry has always been vulnerable to cyberattacks, the increased usage of online and mobile banking among consumers has heightened the risk.
“In today’s increasingly digital world, it is vital for financial institutions to take a proactive approach to cybersecurity, which starts with establishing the importance of security awareness and best practices to their customers and members.”
