UK-based buy now, pay later (BNPL) FinTech firm Zilch has gained unicorn status after closing a $110m Series C funding round at a $2bn valuation.

UK-based buy now pay later startup Zilch raised $80m in a Series B funding round led by Gauss Ventures and M&F Fund and is now valued at over $500m.

Zilch, a London-based FinTech pegged to be the rival to Klarna, has closed an additional $30m in funding to close an oversubscribed pre-Series B in under three weeks.

Despite some concerns about what it could mean for competition, the FinTech sector is seemingly happy about the announced merger between Crowdcube and Seedrs.

The banking platform’s new funding round has pushed Curve’s valuation past the $250m mark.

Simudyne, a platform which hosts financial market simulations to identify fraud, has pulled in $6m in Series A of fundraising.
