Indian crowdfunding platform Dreamwallets has raised its first round of seed funding from seven investors.
The backers include angel investors and high net-worth individuals, including IndusInd Bank senior executives Siddharth Banerjee and Vikas Ranjan.
The fintech startup, which launched last April, has not disclosed the amount of the debut financing round.
Speaking about future plans, Nikhil Agarwal told local news site VCCircle, Dreamwallets will use the fresh capital to “expand its business development team, boost investment in technology and create awareness about the crowdfunding concept”.
The company is also planning to roll out a new version of its platform to focus on strong community development.
The Dreamwallets community currently comprises a diverse group of people including management experts as well as creative types such as musicians, dancers, painters and photographers.
