Irish peer-to-peer payments startup Plynk has raised ?725,000 in a seed round of funding.
The capital comes from Delta Partners, Enterprise Ireland, the National Digital Research Centre, Bank of Ireland start-up and emerging sectors equity fund and angel investors.
The Dublin-based company app allows users to exchange text and images as with normal messaging apps as well as transfer money to friends.
Plynk was developed at bank of Ireland’s Workbench co-working imitative and the company previously received ?20,000 in angel funding.
The app currently only allow transfers in Euros but Plynk plans to add sterling to the service.
The company says the investment will be used to expand its team and it plans to introduce a physical payments card.
