Crowdfunding platform Crowdcube has received a £1m investment from China-headquartered GuanQun.
Founded in 2011, the company allows investors to choose companies to back, which would not normally be available to invest in. Overall investments made on the platform have reached £320m, of which, £250m has been successfully invested into 545 raises.
The capital will be used to continue Crowdcube’s growth which includes increasing its investor network, offering more investment opportunities and delivering investor returns. This investment also allows Crowdcube to explore opportunities in China.
Last year Crowdcube raised £8m in crowdfunding on its own platform and this latest investment brings the company’s total funding to around £21m.
