Digital accounting company ScaleFactor has named David Loia as VP of customers.

In this position, Loia will have the overall responsibility for all global sales and marketing efforts.

Prior to ScaleFactor, he has served at a range of SaaS companies and helped them with revenue growth organically and through acquisitions. Some of the companies Loia has worked at include Iconixx, Zenoss, Humantelligence, Next IT, RightNow Technologies and Siebel Systems.

US-based ScaleFactor provides users with automation tools for bookkeeping, tax compliance, and financial analysis. Currently the solution, which can integrate with existing cloud software, is used by 29 million small businesses in the US.

This new appointment comes a month after the firm received a $2.5m funding round from Next Coast Ventures, Techstars Ventures, Firebrand Ventures, Matchstick Ventures, Edison Factory and Flyover Capital. Funds from the round are set to support the development of the company’s automation technology.

ScaleFactor CEO and founder Kurt Rathmann said, “Our first goal upon completing our seed funding in November was to double-down on making businesses into happy ScaleFactor customers. I couldn’t be more pleased to add heavy SaaS industry experience to our growing team through David Loia’s appointment.”
