US FinTech top deals Q3 2026

Key US FinTech investment stats in Q3 2026:

  • US FinTech funding grew 69% YoY in Q3
  • Californian companies secured three of the top 10 deals to cement the state’s status as the main US FinTech hub in the third quarter
  • Cyera, a data security company building a unified data and identity platform to govern what humans, machines and AI agents can access within enterprises, raised $400m in an extension to its Series G, marking one of the top US FinTech deals of the quarter

US FinTech funding grew 69% YoY in Q3

US FinTech investment in Q3 2026 reached $19.3bn across 472 deals, representing a 69% increase in funding compared to the $11.4bn raised across 450 deals in Q3 2025.

Deal volume also grew, rising by 5% year-on-year, though the modest increase in transaction activity stands in stark contrast to the sharp rise in total capital deployed.

The average deal value climbed to $40.9m in Q3 2026, up from $25.4m in Q3 2025, a 61% increase that points to investors committing significantly larger sums per transaction.

The overall picture is one of a sector in strong health, with funding growing at a pace that comfortably outstrips any expansion in deal volume.

Californian companies secured three of the top 10 deals  to cement the state’s status as the main US FinTech hub in the third quarter

The state-level breakdown of the top 10 deals in Q3 2026 reflects both continuity and meaningful change compared to Q3 2025.

California retained its position as the leading state in both periods, though its share of top deals narrowed from four to three.

New York also featured across both periods, increasing its presence from one deal to two.

Texas and Florida both made new appearances in Q3 2026, each securing one top deal.

Nevada was a notable new entrant, contributing two of the largest transactions despite not featuring in Q3 2025.

Ohio also appeared for the first time with one deal.

On the other side of the ledger, North Carolina, Colorado, Delaware, Georgia and Illinois, each of which contributed one top deal in Q3 2025, were all absent from Q3 2026.

The overall shift points to a consolidation of large transactions around a different set of states, with the West Coast maintaining its lead while several states that featured prominently a year ago dropped out of the upper tier entirely.

Cyera, a data security company building a unified data and identity platform to govern what humans, machines and AI agents can access within enterprises, raised $400m in an extension to its Series G, marking one of the top US FinTech deals of the quarter

The investment came from Growth Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives, supporting Cyera’s goal of creating a single platform to oversee access across every human, machine and AI agent in an organisation.

The raise values Cyera at more than $12bn, with existing backers including Accel, Blackstone, Cyberstarts, Georgian, Lightspeed and Sequoia.

The company extended its platform this year with Agent Guardian and Cyera Endpoint, which monitor AI agent activity including prompts, tool calls, database queries and actions from cloud to endpoint.

Cyera also acquired Oasis Security, combining data visibility with non-human identity management in one system.
