Global FinTech funding grew 14% YoY
Global FinTech companies raised $50.7bn across 2,505 deals in H1 2026.
Funding climbed 14% from $44.6bn in H1 2025 but dipped 1% from $51.4bn in H2 2025, a marginal decline that leaves the overall funding level broadly flat against the second half of last year.
Deal volume rose 9% from 2,294 transactions in H1 2025 but fell 2% from 2,560 in H2 2025.
Taken together, the data points to a sector that has grown considerably on a year-on-year basis while appearing to plateau at a high level of activity, with both funding and deal volumes holding firm rather than accelerating further.
US companies secured half of all deals in H1 to strengthen the country’s dominance in the global FinTech market
US extended its dominance of global FinTech activity in H1 2026, recording 1,252 deals and a 50% share of total transactions.
This compares with 1,004 deals and a 44% share in H1 2025, a 25% rise in volume that also pushed its proportional standing notably higher.
UK held second place in both periods, climbing from 181 deals and an 8% share in H1 2025 to 187 deals and a 7% share in H1 2026, a 3% rise in volume that nonetheless came with a marginal narrowing of its share as the overall market expanded.
India retained third place in both periods, growing from 86 deals and a 4% share in H1 2025 to 119 deals and a 5% share in H1 2026, a 38% increase in volume and a modest gain in its proportional standing.
The ranking held firm across both periods, but the scale of the US expansion is the defining feature of the data.
Its growing share of global deal flow, rising from 44% to 50%, suggests an increasing concentration of FinTech investment in the American market even as activity across the UK and India also moved higher.
Cyera, an AI-native data security company building what it describes as an enterprise trust layer for the agentic era, raised $600m in its latest funding round, marking one of the biggest global FinTech deals of the first half
The round was led by Evolution Equity Partners, with Cyberstarts and Temasek joining alongside existing backers including Accel, AT&T Ventures, Blackstone, Coatue and Spark Capital, pushing Cyera’s valuation to $12bn and taking total funding beyond $2bn.
The company’s platform discovers and classifies exabytes of data with precision exceeding 95%, enforcing access controls across Data Security Posture Management, Data Loss Prevention, identity and behavioural security within a single unified system, giving enterprises visibility and control over what AI agents can access and act upon.
Cyera has tripled its annual recurring revenue for three consecutive years and has grown to more than 1,500 employees across 18 countries over the past 18 months, with its two most recent acquisitions, Ryft and Genie, adding specialised technology for governing AI at enterprise scale.
Proceeds will be used to accelerate the rollout of its platform across Fortune 1000 companies as enterprise demand for AI governance infrastructure continues to intensify.
