Fiserv taps Trulioo to tame cross-border onboarding risk

Trulioo, a global risk intelligence platform, has joined forces with Fiserv, a leading global provider of payments and FinTech solutions, in a move that could reshape how Fiserv’s clients verify individuals and businesses as they grow internationally.

Under the collaboration, Fiserv will gain access to Trulioo’s person and business verification tools. The goal is to simplify the onboarding and underwriting processes that Fiserv clients rely on when entering markets around the world.

Confirming that an applicant is genuine, and that a company is legitimate, sits at the heart of both onboarding and underwriting. These checks often draw on several data sources, require supporting documents and pass through a number of review stages. That burden grows heavier each time a firm moves into a new market.

Trulioo tackles this by automating checks on individuals and businesses, cutting down on manual effort and helping firms reach quicker and more uniform decisions.

On the individual side, Trulioo merges identity data, document checks and fraud indicators into workflows that clients can configure. For companies, its tools draw on reliable international and domestic data to validate business details, uncover who owns and controls an entity, and produce standardised outputs that inform risk-based judgements. Combined, these tools could give Fiserv an adaptable base for running uniform verification across regions while still meeting local rules.

Trulioo operates a global risk intelligence platform that can be tailored to regional obligations without sacrificing a unified approach to identity assurance. This adaptability is designed to make onboarding smoother and to help firms enter new territories more efficiently.

For enterprises active in multiple markets, Trulioo positions itself as a more straightforward route to onboarding customers, validating businesses and supporting growth. Its verification foundation is built to scale and can flex to suit different jurisdictions and operating models as requirements change.

Trulioo CEO Vicky Bindra said, “Global growth should not require businesses to rebuild their verification processes market by market. By bringing Trulioo’s global data coverage, risk signals and configurable workflows to Fiserv, we can help clients manage local requirements while maintaining a secure, frictionless and consistent approach to identity assurance.”

Fiserv global chief product officer, merchant solutions Sanjay Saraf said, “As businesses expand, they need onboarding and identity verification that can keep pace without adding unnecessary complexity. Our collaboration with Trulioo helps us give clients a more consistent approach across markets while adapting to local requirements.”
