KYC RegTech company GreenPoint acquired by Webhelp

Global business process outsourcer Webhelp has acquired KYC RegTech company GreenPoint.

Following the deal, the company has created Webhelp KYC Services, which will be located in Greenpoint office, with day-to-day management led by GreenPoint founders.

France-based GreenPoint is a digital and mobile management provider for Know Your Customer, customer record processing and customer onboarding tasks. The platform helps to verify all types of documents including ID, proof of address, payslip, legal status document and bank details to help protect businesses from fraud and also improve customer experience, conversations and back-office efficiency.

The company mobile KYC product allows users to integrate ID validation API into the users native app, with the client taking a picture of their ID and the platform then checking it real-time. The platform, which is used in the sharing economy, real estate, banking, insurance and gambling sectors, has processed 3.5 million documents across 200 countries, according to the company.

Through the acquisition, GreenPoint hopes to accelerate development through Webhelp international presence and expertise.

Webhelp executive committee member Sandrine Asseraf said, “By working together Webhelp will be able to offer enhanced solutions and improve the function of digitising KYC and the on-boarding processes of our clients. The creation of WKS completes Webhelp’s ambition to develop more holistic RegTech BPO solutions to suit the environment of increased regulation and digitisation in which we are now operating.”
