E-sports cryptocurrency betting platform Unikrn has ended its token pre-sale on $15m, with the ICO now live.
The initial sale of UnikoinGold esports cryptocurrency tokens saw commitments coming from backers including Mark Cuban, Brock Pierce, Blockchain Capital, Pantera Capital, and CoinCircle, according to a post on Medium.
Founded in 2014, Unikrn is an e-sports bookmaker, which helps users either wager for the tokens, or for prizes, in markets where the platform is not yet legally licensed to conduct real-money wagering.
The token will allow users to legally engage in live betting with cryptocurrency on e-sport matches, with the ability to win prizes, hardware and exclusive features. The platform, which is available globally, is set to take advantage of the e-sports sector which is set to hit $1bn in revenue by next year, it said.
Unikrn CEO Rahul Sood said, “With significant interest demonstrated through the private sale and growing interest among the cryptocurrency community, we’re confident the UnikoinGold token sale will reach its $100 million cap.”
Alongside the company’s ICO, Ethereum co-founder and JAXX Wallet CEO Anthony Di lorio has joined the Unikrn’s board of advisors.
This week has also seen the close of several other ICOs and pre-sales, with ConsenSys receiving $40m in a pre-sale, Astronaut picking up $1m within one day, and AICoin bagging $3m in its ICO.
