Gift card provider SmartBox Group has received €167m in senior debt financing led by AIB.
Credit Agricole, Credit Suisse and Caixabank also took part in the financing round.
Dublin-headquartered SmartBox Group is an experience voucher and gift card marketplace, with over 38,000 providers. The solution is currently used in 11 countries across Europe, including Ireland, England, Germany, Italy and Spain.
Earlier in the year, the company announced it will grow its team by 100 with a focus on its including research and development, customer experience, sales marketing and finance teams.
Earlier in the year, Russian gift card marketplace Raise Marketplace closed its $60m Series C round, which was led by Accel. The company is hoping to use the capital to boost development of its new services.
Last month, Irish IT management solution Kaseya secured a €38m investment to support it with the creation of 130 new jobs. Of the funding, €19m was supplied by Ireland Strategic Investment Fund.
The payments sector holds the biggest proportion of FinTech deals, with it accounting for 22 per cent of the total activity.
