Cybersecurity startup Hysolate launches out of stealth with $8m investment

Hysolate, a cybersecurity startup that has invented a hybrid endpoint architecture, has landed $8m in funding following its launch of stealth.

Cybersecurity foundry Team8 and Eric Schmidt’s Innovation Endeavors led the fundraising round. The company was founded by Tal Zamir, a veteran of an elite Israeli cyber unit and former R&D leader in Wanova (acquired by VMware), and Dan Dinnar, former CEO of HexaTier (acquired by Huawei) and executive sales officer at CyberArk Software, from its founding sales team and through its IPO in 2014.

Hysolate has also launched its first product, a platform upon an alternative “hybrid” architecture that allows enterprises to run multiple side-by-side operating systems on a single workstation, providing a ‘seamless experience for end-users while maintaining the highest level of security’ according to its website.

Its patented virtual air gap technology claims to enhance virtualization to split an endpoint into two isolated operating systems: an unlocked operating system that provides users with full freedom, and another locked-down operating system that is only used to access enterprise resources. The solution protects sensitive assets regardless of the type of attack vector used by attackers.

“Rarely in the cyber security industry is a solution introduced that has as wide-ranging an impact as what Hysolate is launching today,” said Ziv Kop, a partner at Innovation Endeavors. “Hysolate is rewriting the rules that enterprise IT has traditionally been governed by and dramatically improves enterprise productivity overall.”

Hysolate currently works with some of the largest enterprises in the world, including several of the world’s biggest banks, technology vendors, financial services providers and other enterprise organizations.

Along with providing privileged access and user productivity solutions, it can also provide payment system users with seamless access to payment systems, allowing them to be productive while keeping attackers isolated and complying with regulation.
Team8 is Israel’s leading cybersecurity think tank and company creation foundry, developing disruptive companies that challenge the biggest problems in cybersecurity today. Hysolate is the fourth company to be launched out of Team8, joining Illusive Networks, Claroty and the recently launched Sygnia.
