FinTech Scotland has formed a strategic partnership with Prudential UK, a savings and investments company.
The partnership will support the digitalisation of financial services in Scotland and across the UK. Alongside the partnership, Prudential has opened a new office hub in Edinburgh to support its Wealth Solutions business.
Via its new office, Prudential is hoping to boost digital and data innovations to help build better solutions for consumers and financial advisers. Another goal of this office is to boost the FinTech space in Scotland by collaborating with entrepreneurs in the country and accelerate the development of companies.
Prudential is a UK and European long-term savings, investments and pensions support providers, offering a range of products and advice to help consumers reach financial goals.
Prudential UK managing director of Wealth Solutions David Macmillan said, “Innovation through collaboration is the key to firmly establishing Scotland’s long-term FinTech credentials and FinTech Scotland is uniquely positioned to help make this happen. The quality of the FinTech community in Edinburgh convinced us to locate our new facility in the city and since doing so in May we’ve not been disappointed.
“We look forward to actively developing the already solid reputation of the community and relish the opportunity to work alongside our universities, government agencies and the other partners to foster entrepreneurial talent across the sector.”
As part of the deal, David Macmillan will join the board at FinTech Scotland.
The other strategic partners of FinTech Scotland include IBM, Equifax, Pinsent Masons, Deloitte, Dentsu Aegis Network and Sopra Steria.
