SECURITI.ai, a developer of cybersecurity and data protection infrastructure, has released from stealth to reveal the close of a $31m Series A.
Funding was led by Mayfield Fund, with participation also coming from General Catalyst. A number of other angel investors also contributed, Okta founder and COO Frederic Kerrest, former Symantec COO Mike Fey and former Informatica CEO Sohaib Abbasi.
This wave of capital will be used to grow the team and to support the scaling of its debut product, PrivacyOps.
Its initial product, PrivacyOps uses artificial intelligence to automate various global privacy regulations. California’s Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and Europe’s GDPR are just two of the data regulations firms need to be compliant with, and more are on the way.
PrivacyOps helps organisations automate their data request obligations more reliably and at a much quicker pace, the company claims. Deep learning technology can discover personal data from hundreds of structured and unstructured data sources and can complete data requests for personal data.
To ensure security, the platform protects against identity fraud, malicious use, and theft of personal data, and continuously assesses third parties for privacy risk.
General Catalyst managing director Steve Herrod said, “Protecting the privacy of customer data is becoming a top issue for companies on the reputation, business, and compliance fronts.
“However, it can be extremely challenging to find, report on, and potentially delete this information when it lives across disparate systems and applications. SECURITI.ai’s products are focused on precisely these challenges, and I’m thrilled to be an investor.”
