Tax automation software creator SurePrep has received a “significant” minority investment from private equity firm Bregal Sagemount.
With the fresh fund injection, the startup hopes to expand into new product categories and increase its development to meet demands of customers of all sizes.
Its technology automates tax preparation workflow tasks to increase operational efficiency and deepen customer interactions.
The company was founded in 2002 and is now used by over 20,000 tax professionals, integrating with existing software to ease workflow burdens.
Bregal Sagemount principal Pavan Tripathi said, “SurePrep has a large white space opportunity ahead of it. Its unique solutions drive meaningful value for accounting and wealth management firms, and we look forward to working with the SurePrep team on product and market growth initiatives.”
Last month, trust, corporate and fund service provider ZEDRA acquired tax compliance company Talenture.
