Challenger bank bunq has released its new Green Card which will see one tree planted for every €100 a customer spends.
The new sustainable metal card is made of 50% stainless steel to help reduce the amount of single-use plastic used in the world. A special numbered version of the Green Card will be given to the first 1,000 users to sign-up for the new card which costs €99 a year.
Working in partnership with the Eden Reforestation Projects, the challenger bank will plant a tree for every €100 which is spent by each customer. The mobile app will have a virtual forest to help users see the number of trees they have helped plant.
By choosing the green card for a premium, business or joint member account, for each €100 spent, two trees will be planted.
The Green Card can be used with any European bank account, with a customer simply having to download the bunq app.
bunq is a digital challenger bank which offers access to bank accounts, payments, direct debits, invoicing and card payments.
