Lord Mayor of London William Russell is going to San Francisco to tout UK FinTech

A delegation of early-stage UK startups and venture capital firms headed by Lord Mayor of London is going to California to champion British FinTech innovation.  

Speaking with Financial News, William Russell, the newly elected Lord Mayor of London who has a background as a Meryll Lynch banker, said that the delegation’s mission was to convince market investors in San Francisco that there has never been a better time to invest in UK FinTech than now.

During the trip, the delegation will meet Silicon Valley investors like Lightspeed Ventures and General Catalyst as well as big firms like Saleforce.

Some of the FinTech ventures joining Lord Mayor of London on the trip include Cazana, Goodbox, Project Imagine and Mosaic Data.
