Commercial insurance and risk management firm Brush Creek Partners have announced a new InsurTech accelerator in Kansas City.
Brush Creek Partners’ COO Nathan Kurtz told Startland News that the “rich heritage of insurance in Kansas City” will benefit from a new wave of technology.
“Brush Creek’s purpose is to challenge how the insurance industry works and exceed expectations,” he said.
The accelerator will identify InsurTech innovators and help them get access to clients, mentors and investors empowering them to scale at speed.
Applications for the five spots in the accelerator programme will open in January and run until March 1. The programme will then run between May and July.
The first nine months of 2019 saw $3.7bn be injected into the global InsurTech industry, making it the strongest funding year for the sector ever, according to FinTech Global’s research.
