DXC Technology teams up with Springday to create new health and wellbeing service

DXC Technology, an end-to-end IT services company, has formed a partnership with health and wellbeing platform Springday.

The companies have come together to release a new community edition of Springday. The new version provides employers with a cost-effective online platform where employees can manage their physical and mental wellbeing via gamification. The company hopes this will help companies to reduce the number of workplace-related workers’ compensation claims.

As part of the new platform, there will be a variety of multimedia content from experts and integration with wearables. This service is targeted to startups and scaleups around the world.

Springday builds wellbeing apps which aim to improve users health and in-turn lower the chances of them making a health-related insurance claim. It educates users on better lifestyles through gamified tools which attribute points and awards to normal activities which encourage exercise or healthy living.

DXC general manager Dr Michael Neary said, “Insurers are becoming increasingly concerned with the rising number and costs of psychological claims. The complexity and difficulty in achieving return to work outcomes mean psychological claims cost almost twice the average physical injury claim.

“Our immediate focus has been workers’ compensation claims management but addressing mental injury claims is equally important for life and health insurers. DXC is keen to work with insurers to improve the wellbeing of Australians and reduce these claims.”
