Curve and TrueLayer investor Connect Ventures has announced a new $80m fund

London-based Connect Ventures is raising a new $80m fund to keep supporting innovative tech startups

“We’re interested in building long term relationships with founders who have the obsession and focus required to build product-led companies, and the ambition to build category leaders,” said Sitar Teli, general partner at Connect Ventures.

Since launching in 2012, the venture capital firm has already supported many FinTech firms among the “product-led software entrepreneurs” it has invested in.

Most notably it supported Curve’s $2m Series A round in 2016 and TrueLayer’s $1.3m round back in 2017.

It has also supported other notable investments in the FinTech space, including Oyster’s recent $4.2m round and Soldo’s $11m Series A round.

It was also one of the early backers of Citymapper back in 2012 and has also invested in  tech startups providing services in everything from coffee and childcare to business travel and fitness.

The new fund is backed by new LPs including Top Tier Capital Partners, Isomer Capital, British Patient Capital, De Agostini, Big Society Capital, Draper Esprit and Korelya Capital, according to TechCrunch.

Connect Ventures most recent founder was raised in 2016 when it added $62m to its coffers.
