Cyber protection company Acronis has acquired endpoint device control and data loss prevention software company DeviceLock.
DeviceLock claims to protect more than four million computers in over 5,000 organisations around the world. Its technology protects users in banking, finance, medical, pharmaceutical, government, defence, manufacturing and retail. Its platform stops data leaks at the source.
Acronis will integrate the DeviceLock solution into its infrastructure so it can offer customers a simple way of preventing data leaks from corporate Windows and Mac laptops, desktop computers and virtualised Windows sessions.
Acronis is an AI-powered data protection and cybersecurity solution provider, protecting virtual, physical, mobile and cloud environments. Its product suite includes backup, security, disaster recovery, and enterprise file sync and share solutions.
Following the close of the deal, Acronis plans to continue enhancing its cyber protection offerings and adding capabilities requested by partners and customers.
Acronis’ founder and executive officer Serguei Beloussov said, “By adding DeviceLock’s solutions to our portfolio of cyber protection products and services, we’re giving our partners and customers an easy way to deliver an unprecedented level of functionality among endpoint DLP solutions in an affordable price range.
“We are looking at both developing new solutions internally, as well as acquiring additional leading vendors to add even more capabilities to our existing repertoire. The world of IT security is always changing, and we are determined to continue evolving our solutions to meet the ever-changing needs of the market.”
Following the close of the deal, DeviceLock will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Acronis.
