iptiQ, a white labelling digital insurance platform, has named Carlo Bewersdorf as its new CEO, as of 1 October 2020.
Bewersdorf will focus on protecting more people and make insurance more accessible and engaging.
Prior to this position, Bewersdorf was a member of the board at German insurance and reinsurance organisation vhv vereinigte hannoversche versicherung.
He holds a number of other board positions, according to his LinkedIn, including InsurTech startup wefox, InsurTech networking platform InsurLab Germany and university Quadriga university of Applied Sciences Berlin.
Other positions held by Bewersdorf include director of digital business at Allianz, managing director of marketing at Asstel Insurance Group and senior vice president at Deutsche Telekom.
iptiQ is a digital B2B2C platform which supplies partners with digital processes and customers with valuable protection products. The company builds strong partnerships to sell insurance through trusted brands.
The InsurTech recently became a standalone division of Swiss Re, enabling it to put more focus on growth.
To support this move, the company has brought in a handful of new staff. Earlier in the year, iptiQ named Thierry Léger as its new chief underwriting officer, taking over from Edi Schmid in September.
This has been a very active period for the InsurTech startup. It recently inked a deal with Swiss multinational bank UBS to launch an integrated bancassurance solutions for mortgage customers. The solution leverages iptiQ to give mortgage customers in Switzerland a solution to hedge risks.
With the market ambiguity caused by the coronavirus one of the biggest struggles for a lot of businesses is continuing to find sales. iptiQ recently released a blog on how to achieve success while selling insurance online.
