The Canadian Centre for Cyber Security within the Communications Security Establishment has warned that China, Russia, Iran and North Korea pose the biggest cybersecurity threats to the nation.
The agency warns in a new report that the state-sponsored cyber activity is very likely to keep conducting commercial espionage against Canadian businesses, CTV News reported.
“The most sophisticated capabilities belong to state sponsored cyber threat actors who are motivated by economic, ideological, and geopolitical goals. Their activities include cyber espionage, intellectual property theft, online influence operations, and disruptive cyber attacks,” the report said.
The agency also added that while China, Russia, Iran and North Korea are behind the biggest threats, other nations are also ramping up their state-sponsored cyber programmes.
