Novidea hires ex-broker to head sales department

Insurance company Novidea has appointed Jamie McDonnell to the role of UK sales manager.

Founded in 2009, Novidea markets an end-to-end platform that provides real-time business intelligence and seamless workflow management for brokers, agents, MGAs and corporate risk management. The firm has locations in New York, London, Sevilla and Netanya.

The company’s technology – built on Salesforce – allows brokers and MGAs to control the customer journey end-to-end and aid growth and operational efficiencies across the entire distribution cycle. Novidea said the growth of the firm has been driven by brokers’ urgent need to move to a cloud-based business management platform, allowing them to work wherever and whenever they want.

According to Novidea, McDonnell’s role will include driving the continued expansion and engagement with brokers in the UK and London market. Furthermore, his role will involve early-stage engagement with brokers and helping them to assess how the company’s offering unites with its technology strategy.

McDonnell has a wide range of experience in the insurance sector. Most recently, he worked for commercial insurance enterprise Cytora where he served as director of strategic partnerships and also held an earlier role as client development director.

He also spent six years with global insurance broker Marsh. While at the company, he held two separate vice presidency roles specialising in risk management practice as well as energy and power practice and was also an account executive. McDonell has served as a corporate development executive for the Chartered Insurance Institute as well.
